The Portal

[Prague, Czech Republic]

I was absolutely mesmerised by this lift (and what I personally like to call a “space portal”) found within the ancient tower at the Old Town Hall in Prague. The tower was originally built in 1364, and has been the site of momentous occasions both large and small throughout Czech history – the selection of a king, imprisonments, executions, and weddings. Just like the portal, the true gems in this 1,200-year old city are often hidden behind walls and doors –  just beyond sight but always within reach, if you are willing to seek them out.
